dogsbodies dog days of summer, the heat makes us meaner by the hour we couldn't listen except to the sound of the teeth clacking in our heads we couldn't listen except to the sound of the blood running in our skin we couldn't feel our own living except for our slow slow slow hearts they pumped thicker and thicker, slower and slower back and forth forever thicker and thicker, slower and slower back and forth forever and we're so hungry, we're so hungry, we're so hungry one of us dogsbodies bit another dogsbody right through one of us dogsbodies shot another dogsbody right through he said the taste the touch you can't help but love though it's strange you can't make dogs like us change you can't make dogs like us change we're so hungry, we're so hungry we're so hungry we're so hungry you can't make dogs like us change a dog only knows a dog only knows his own dogsbody his own dogsbody a dog only loves a dog only loves his own dogsbody his own dogsbody street dogs suck and sleeping dogs lie lucky dogs win and lazy dogs whine lucky dogs win lap dogs lick show dogs show and dirty dogs die but we're so hungry and set in our ways our bellies are slaves to our minds under the sun we're slaves to its heat and the sun is a slave to the sky the sun is a slave to the sky

about

Released April 14, 2015 on New Atlantis Records, this slab of wax delivers unabashed, raucous sonics, marrying the menacing tones of the creative rock underground to haunting, arcing compositions, potentiated by the fiery spontaneity of classic free jazz. Recently heralded as one of Guitar World's "10 Female Guitarists You Should Know," Ava's playing is unapologetically searing, and she magickally coagulates the influence of warped blues players, noise-rockers, and technically prodigious brutal-proggers alike.

The sum output of the group is rapturous and kinetic, due in no small part to the abundant creative energies of the ensemble. Ava's sprechstimme vocals and shockingly nimble guitarring make for a remarkably accessible work that exists unfettered by compromise... Keyboardist Dominique Leone adroitly navigates these deceptively complex tunes, bracing Ava's playing with sub throbbing synth, and unfathomably dense swaths of texture. Nick Tamburro is a drumming wizard, whether he is plowing straight into massively buoyant rhythms, or churning up biting, enthralling cavalcades of free-time.

Just as lava from subterranean fissures seeps into the cool ocean to make new land, this power trio conjures new terrain for your ears and your brain.
